To cope with the influx of orders related to the health crisis the world is currently facing, Amazon decided to increase the salaries of warehouse employees worldwide and recruit 100,000 people in the United States.
2 dollars/pounds/euros more per hour is what employees in warehouses, logistics centres, stores and delivery personnel will receive. An increase that will cost Amazon, $350 million but which is necessary during this period of crisis to recognize the work of employees.
In particular, in response to the increasing demand from the confined people dependent on Amazon's services, a company in West Seattle decided to create 100,000 full- and part-time jobs.
In addition, Amazon reassures and promises to pay up to 2 weeks salary to all employees infected with the coronavirus or quarantined.
