A new edition of Human Capital Europe will take place next February 1st, in a physical format, at the European Convention Center Luxembourg (ECCL). Powered by Farvest, Human Capital Europe will give the participants a unique opportunity to attend a 1-day conference discussing the latest HR and leadership trends, connect with local and international HR key players, visit an exhibition area, and share great moments of networking. The traditional HR One Gala dinner – hosting the Luxembourg HR Awards ceremony – will then close this awaited 1-day event.
Latest HR & Leadership trends explained by HR directors and leaders
From 9:00am to 06:00pm the main stage of Human Capital Europe will welcome inspiring leaders that will be focusing on two main topics throughout the day. The morning conference will be dedicated to the topic “From ordinary people to extraordinary leaders” where CEOs and leadership experts will take the stage to share their inspiring journey and best practises.
To start, Cristina Maldonado (International Consultant for Organizational Change Management), will lead a reflection on the question “Is old leadership dead?”. Filip Westerlund (Founder & CEO, Our Choice) will then present his vision of “a meaningful leader”. For their part, Niccolo Polli (CEO, HSBC), Aline Muller (CEO, LISER), Charles-Louis Machuron (CEO and Co-founder, Silicon Luxembourg) and Ilana Devillers (CEO, F4All) will attempt to answer “How to manage in 2022: the role(s) of modern leaders”.
Then, the participants will be able to discover an out of the box management vision, with the participation of Paul Douard (Editor-in-Chief, VICE) presenting “How anti-ambition will save you”. This morning session will also be the opportunity to discover the author of “Career Fear – how to beat it” – Somi Arian, author and entrepreneur – who will be sharing a practical roadmap for business owners and company leaders to survive and thrive in possibly the most challenging economic conditions in modern history.
The afternoon conference will address “The HR year”, introduced and moderated by Michael Neefs (Country Sales Manager Belgium & Luxembourg, Cornerstone) who will invite on stage Georges Engel, Luxembourg Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy to launch the second part of Human Capital europe, specifically focused on Human Resources Directors and HR experts’ challenges.
The afternoon will continue with a panel discussion, moderated by Eros Sharma (Head of Leadership and Learning & Development, Generali Employee Benefits): Samuele Zoccari (Chief HR and Organisation Officer, Generali Employee Benefits), Cornelia Naumof (Director Talent Acquisition, Talent Management & DEI, SES Satellites) and Elise Pillemand (Senior HRBP, Clearstream) to debate on Mental Health and Wellness as priorities for HR. After a keynote speech delivered by Audrey Bertolotti (Counsel, Head of Employment, Linklaters) who will share an overview of the home working legal framework. The participants will also have the opportunity to learn more on mixing tech and human in an efficient and complementary way via a discussion entitled “The Magic Mix: when Tech meets HR” with the participation of Emeline Barbenchon (Senior Manager, HR Technology & Transformation, PwC Luxembourg) and Tessy Thill (Senior Manager & Team Lead: Organisational Change, PwC Luxembourg).
Lars Boom (Country Manager Benelux, Personio) will then take the stage to highlight the issue of the “war for talent” and the “strategies & insights for mastering the next year”. He will be followed by Steven Van Dalem (Training & Development Manager, jobs.lu & StepStone) who will speak about “working in a digital world”. After an exhibition break, “the Great HR Reset” will be discussed by Richard Doherty (Senior Director, Solution Marketing, Workday), while Antoinette Bertrand (Digital learning manager, MySkillCamp) will explain “how to hack the business model canvas to boost your learning culture”. Talent shortage and talent attraction will again be at the heart of the debate with Laurent Peusch (Head of Employer Service, ADEM).
Finally, the organisers will welcome Christopher Freres (Head of Recruitment, Human Relations & Talent Management, Banque Degroof Petercam), Laurent Peusch (Head of Employer Service, ADEM), Jaclyn Majarich (Employer Brand Consultant, Culture Ignite) and Oreste Shimwe (Talent acquisition Manager, CGI) for a discussion focusing on “HR strategies to solve talent shortage”.
In addition to the main stage conferences, POST Luxembourg will be organising, in parallel, its IoT Event “Let's make flexibility your new super power!”. POST Luxembourg chose Human Capital Europe to hold its flagship event dedicated to HR business leaders and professionals by exploring how the IoT (internet of things) offers opportunities for greater flexibility in the workplace. The telecom company will be offering a number of specific testimonials of customer use cases as part of a session where every participant will have a chance to share their feedback and insights into the place of flexibility in the world of work, health care and industry.
An exhibition hall and moments of networking
As a business-enabling event, Human Capital Europe is known for its networking sessions and exhibition area. This year marks the great return of the exhibition hall welcoming the major -local and international- actors of the HR sector. Participants will have the opportunity to take a walk in the European Convention Center Luxembourg and discover the immersive and experimental booths organised and designed especially for this reconnection momentum. The HR One Gala Dinner will be closing this 1-day HR dedicated event (from 8:00pm to 11:00pm) and will gather 200+ high-end personalities of the human resources sector. During the evening, attendees will share a convivial moment aiming to discover and support the best projects, contributions and initiatives led this past year by HR leaders and partners that will be unveiled through the Luxembourg HR Awards Ceremony.
